Small Business Programs


Starter Company+ offers business training, mentorship, and a $5000 grant opportunity for participating clients who start, buy or expand a “Main Street” or Agricultural focused business in Woodstock or Oxford County.

All participants are eligible for business training and mentorship. Grants are limited. Priority is given to grow “Main Street” and Agricultural focused business owners.

This program is designed to help support and develop long-term sustainable business models.

Summer Company is a youth skills-development program that offers business training, mentorship and a $3000 grant opportunity for participating students who start and run a business over the summer. Students must be between the ages of 15-29 and returning to studies in the fall.

This student opportunity is competitive and on a first-come basis. Applications are accepted between February and May each year.

Learning with a Mentor is key to success! Our Volunteer Business Mentors are motivated and dedicated to help you succeed. They share experiences, successes and mistakes and will support you as a sounding board while providing honest, constructive feedback. Our screened Volunteer Business Mentors:

Specialize in diverse areas of coaching, business planning, operations, human resources, accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, marketing, sales, insurance, law, IT, e-commerce, etc.

Engage in one-to-one coaching and group coaching at our Mentor Connections round-tables
