Small business week is in October.  This year our Keynote speaker is Peter Wright  who will discuss his book, "5 Steps to Thriving on Adversity".  This will be followed by 2 local business owners, Tracey Kaiman and Mary Jakeman sharing their business stories.  Closing inspirational comments by Jackie Thomas.  The cost of this event is $20.00 which includes hot breakfast catered by Taste of Woodstock.  The event will be held at Woodstock and District Developmental Services. Start time is 8 a.m. and will finish at noon.

Managing the Seven Dwarfs - The workshop provided strategies to address the typical road blocks for effective communication and decision making.  Attendees learned how to minimize frustration through greater awareness of conflict handling style and an appreciation of how others view conflict.  Participants had an opportunity to practice the concepts learned through interactive exercises and group discussion.

Identify your Instinctual Cognitive Strengths with Kolbe A Index was presented by Andre Brisson, Kolbe Certified Consultant and President of JADE Engineers.  There are 3 parts to the mind: Cognitive, Affective, and Cognitive.  The presentation will describe the 12 cognitive strengths and describe how the Kolbe A Index will highlight you cognitive strengths and identifies your unique method of problem, you Modus Operandi (M.O).  Strategies will also be presented on how to better work within your MO to strive in problem solving.  If you want to know your MO and get a better understanding of yourself, you can take the online 36 question questionnaire prior to the presentation and Andre will do an interpretation of your cognitive strengths following the presentation.
