WOODSTOCK: February 2017
Woodstock’s Economic Development department welcomes Ronda Stewart as interim Manager for the Woodstock & Area Small Business Enterprise Centre.
Mrs. Stewart is a certified Economic Developer, a strategic leader and an advocate for business owners. Economic Development Commissioner Len Magyar says of hiring Mrs. Stewart, “Ronda brings a wealth of experience and is open to new ideas that will benefit our ‘Main Street’ and small business community”.
In the interim, Mrs. Stewart will be responsible for creating a 2-year strategy along with planning a new signature event and developing the framework for a provincial grant program that is scheduled to launch in the spring.
Ronda comments, “I’m excited to connect with business owners and share how they can access support and grow as part of the Small Business Enterprise Centre network. If you are new or at a crossroads in your business, or if you have ideas on how we can better serve the Woodstock and Area business community, call us, we’re open to explore your ideas”.
Prior to this role, Ronda successfully managed the Elgin/St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre for six years. Before that, she owned her own small business providing Executive Directors with organizational, administration and bookkeeping support.
The Small Business Enterprise Centre is a provincial-municipal program delivered in partnership with local business and community organizations. Its mandate is to provide resources and relevant support to entrepreneurs and business owners in their first five years of business. The Small Business Enterprise Centre team accomplishes this mandate by connecting business-minded people to business planning information, training, mentoring and community referrals needed to start or grow in our community.
